The images in the Eternal Mirror come alive through movement, either as a static object or as an animation through augmented reality.
Concepts such as transition, windows to other dimensions and introspection are explored through infinite loops without discernible start or end.
The eternal movement of time is the great inspiration and essence that leads to the materialization of these concepts in pieces who exist in two dimensions but come alive through the lenses of a viewfinder to another universe.
Each image has a hidden reflection shown only through the screen of the smartphone allowing a peek to another dimension beyond the material world.

backstory
If truth be told this collection was a bit of a fluke.
Mid 2019 we were tasked with creating all the branding and design for the annual comic book festival Amadora BD happening in the end of October and one of the things on the table for us was a trade booth in the commercial center during the festivals duration.
Problem was, beside not having any ideas for the space, we also had a collective exhibition occurring at the same time in Lisbon.
And so a week before the opening of the festival we decided to create a pop-up store to showcase and sell our augmented reality artworks.
We called our friends at Kilford to know if they had paper in stock and at XCut, who were working along us on the festival, to see if they had any availability to print and mount our booth.
Both said yes and we got to work on getting everything done on time for the opening which we did.
It was a success and a winning bet since most of our original works and prints were sold in the 10 days we were there.
Below you can see some photos from the setup and during the festival:

Spine

break up
The inevitable collapse and transmutation of all desire into a crumbling mountain of frustrations.

civilization
The civilized eating the civilized.
